Director of Stakeholder and Business Development

The Director of Stakeholder and Business Development will be a key member of the senior leadership team. This role is responsible for managing teams to build robust stakeholder partnerships and responding to emerging needs of industry and the community. By identifying and capitalising on collaboration opportunities, the Director of Stakeholder and Business Development ensures learners have access to work placements, apprenticeships, and real-world projects, effectively bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application.

Additionally, the Director of Stakeholder and Business Development will oversee the development and implementation of business engagement strategies, ensuring alignment with the college’s purpose, vision and values. This role involves fostering relationships with industry partners, local businesses, and community organisations to provide opportunities and ensure growth targets, key performance indicators and financial sustainability are met. The Director of Stakeholder and Business Development will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of stakeholder and business development initiatives, making data-driven decisions to enhance the college’s offerings.

You will have:

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant area
  • GCSE English and maths (minimum 4/C) or equivalent
  • Evidence of recent professional updating and development
  • Proven experience in leading the development and implementation of stakeholder and business engagement strategies ideally in a further education setting.
  • Experience in fostering collaboration opportunities to enhance the institution’s offerings and support real-world projects.

Day to day you will be responsible for:

  • Continuously innovate and adapt strategies to align with evolving industry trends, best practices, government initiatives, emerging technologies, and changing customer needs.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to ensure high performance and effective teamwork.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, local businesses, community organisations, and educational institutions.
